Qdex is the co founder of Shred.Eat.Sleep. CIC, a community built around making snow sports, outdoor adventure and new experiences feel more accessible, welcoming and exciting for people who may not have traditionally seen themselves in these spaces.
What started as a simple idea to get more people onto the slopes has grown into a community of around 800 members, with people coming together through trips, events and experiences across the UK and internationally. As co founder, Qdex helps shape the culture, experiences and creative direction of Shred.Eat.Sleep., from organising trips and events to developing partnerships, storytelling and content that challenge the idea of who outdoor and action sports are for.
For Qdex, snowboarding is about much more than what happens on the mountain. It can be a way to build confidence, travel, meet people, discover new places and do something you never thought was for you. A big part of what Shred.Eat.Sleep. creates is that first step into an unfamiliar space, making it easier for people to show up as themselves, learn at their own pace and find their place within it.
Alongside building Shred.Eat.Sleep., Qdex is a DJ and creative, bringing a strong understanding of music, culture and community into the way the organisation approaches its experiences. That influence is a big part of creating an environment that feels authentic rather than simply trying to recreate traditional outdoor sports culture.
At the London Snow Show, Qdex will share his experience of building a growing snow sports community and explore why culture, belonging and genuine access matter when thinking about the future of the industry. He’ll also speak about what happens when people are given the opportunity to experience something they may never have imagined was for them.
