Freddy Carrick-Smith is an alpine ski racer representing Team GB, specialising in giant slalom and slalom. Raised in Tignes, in the French Alps, Freddy grew up immersed in the world of skiing alongside his two brothers, Zak and Luca — all coached from a young age by their parents, both highly experienced ski professionals.
Freddy began his journey in a local French ski club but quickly realised that traditional systems didn’t suit his independent approach to the sport. Preferring to carve his own path, he has always trusted his instincts and close-knit coaching team — his family — to guide his development on and off the mountain.
Now based primarily in Austria, where he spends most of his winters, Freddy continues to train and compete across Europe. Outside of skiing, he channels his creativity into a small business, Fluffy Buffs, which he runs through Instagram, designing and selling ski buffs — a venture he’s been growing for the past three years.
Passionate about fitness, travel, and surfing, Freddy brings a dynamic energy to everything he does. His individuality, determination, and love of the mountains define both his skiing and his lifestyle — a blend of discipline and freedom that reflects his unique journey in the world of alpine sport.
