Betsy Shaw

Betsy is a former Olympian and a world title winner in alpine snowboarding. Growing up on the blue-ice-covered slopes of her native Vermont, where hitting the brakes wasn’t an option, her forté was speed. She was inducted into the Vermont Ski and Snowboarding Hall of Fame in 2014. Now a writer, editor, and recent transplant to the UK, Betsy lives car-free in Scotland where she enjoys the privilege of living in a village with train service.
