Marmot Basin – Jasper

Stand details

London 2026 (B10)

Marmot Basin Ski Resort is located in Jasper, Alberta, surrounded by more than 11,000 square kilometres of protected wilderness in Jasper National Park. As the largest national park in Canada’s Rocky Mountains and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Jasper provides a spectacular setting for a ski experience that feels distinctly different from the busier mountain destinations.

Known for panoramic mountain views, a laid-back atmosphere and uncrowded slopes, Marmot Basin combines big-mountain skiing with an approachable, welcoming feel. It is a place where the scenery is wild, the pace is relaxed and there is plenty of room to explore.

Across 1,720 acres of skiable terrain, Marmot Basin offers 91 runs and 1000m/3,000 vertical feet of skiing and snowboarding. The mountain has terrain for every ability, from wide, perfectly groomed trails and beginner-friendly slopes to high alpine bowls, glades, steep chutes and powder-filled expert terrain. The variety makes it easy for families and groups with different ability levels to spend a full day exploring the mountain together.

Marmot Basin also has the highest base elevation of any major ski area in Canada, helping deliver consistent winter conditions throughout a long season that typically runs from mid-November into early May. With terrain stretching from the lower mountain to exposed alpine areas, conditions and scenery can change dramatically as you make your way across the resort.

A day at Marmot Basin is about more than checking runs off a trail map. It is skiing in the heart of a national park, surrounded by the Canadian Rockies, with fewer crowds and a little more space to enjoy the mountains. Pair the skiing with the character of Jasper townsite, and Marmot Basin offers a Canadian Rockies ski trip that is well worth going the extra distance for.
