Over the past decade, there has been a growing emphasis on winter tourism in order to diversify tourism activities throughout the year. In 2014, Turkey hosted 4.8 million winter tourists, up from 2.7 million ten years prior. With 51 ski facilities and a bed capacity of 9,549, Turkey is ranked 18th in the world in terms of ski facilities.
