London 2026 (F71)
Azerbaijan makes its London Snow Show debut with a fresh perspective on winter in the
Greater Caucasus: established mountain resorts, a growing international competition calendar
and a destination whose cultural experiences extend well beyond the slopes.
Situated between the Caucasus Mountains and the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan brings skiing and
snowboarding together with historic towns, distinctive regional cuisine and a capital where
ancient streets meet contemporary architecture. For travellers seeking a winter holiday with
more to discover, the mountains are just the beginning.
In the northern Gusar region, Shahdag Mountain Resort offers 45 kilometres of slopes across
37 runs, with skiing reaching 2,552 metres. Terrain spanning beginner to advanced levels is
supported by 20 lifts, extensive snowmaking, ski schools and a choice of hotels and spa
facilities. Mountain activities, including snow tubing and the Shahdag Coaster, broaden the
experience for families and non-skiers.
Near Gabala, Tufandag Mountain Resort offers 12 kilometres of slopes across 10 listed runs
and beginner areas, reaching 1,920 metres. Its combination of accessible learning terrain and
more demanding descents is complemented by ski tuition, equipment hire, scenic cable-car
journeys and mountain accommodation.
As a Global Destination Partner of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS),
Azerbaijan is strengthening its connections across the international winter sports community. In
2027, Shahdag will welcome the FIS Alpine Skiing European Cup in Women’s Slalom on 6–7
February, followed by the FIS Freestyle World Cup Finals in Aerials, Moguls and Dual Moguls
on 5–7 March, bringing leading athletes and the excitement of international competition to its
slopes.
Shahdag will also host the 2027 International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF) World
Championships, placing Azerbaijan’s mountain terrain at the heart of another major global
winter sports event.
Away from the mountains, explore Baku’s UNESCO-listed Old City and Caspian waterfront,
discover the craftsmanship of historic towns and sit down to the flavours and hospitality that
give each region its character.
