If there’s snow to be found, Andy Knights has probably carved a turn through it. As of 10th October, Andy celebrates 18 years with Ski Safari, where he’s our Sales Manager & Japan Product Manager—aka the guy who knows exactly where the best powder, ramen, and onsen hide.
With 25 years in the ski industry Andy’s story starts in Whistler, year 2000—four seasons of snowboard Instructing, and living the dream before chasing winter south to Mt Hutt, New Zealand. When he finally touched down back in the UK, he swapped his snowboard instructor jacket for a buyer’s clipboard at a top ski shop, before joining the Ski Safari team and never looking back.
Eighteen years later, Andy’s travelled to over 100+ resorts across Japan, Canada, the USA, Chile, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, and Sweden, crafting tailor-made adventures that blend snow with soul. His deep love affair with Japan has led to the creation of Ski Safari’s Taste, Flavours, Histories & Traditions of Japan itineraries—a culinary and cultural ride that pairs world-famous powder with everything from kaiseki dining to temple visits.
