19–20 Oct 2024 33 days to go! #SnowShow

Visually Impaired Running Challenge, Lands End to John O’Groats.

Visually Impaired Army Veteran Darren Blanks will be undertaking the challenge of running from Lands End to John O’Groats from 16th August to 13th September 2024.

This once in a lifetime, 28 day adventure covers over 850 miles between Lands End to John O’Groats. His challenge will be to tackle running 30+ miles a day, with no sight! This is the ultimate test of physical and mental endurance.

He is undertaking this feat of endurance to raise money for The Visually Impaired Veterans Ski Club (VIV Ski Club), a ski club that was founded over 45 years ago to give veterans with visual impairments a chance to enjoy a week of skiing or snowboarding each year.

For people who are members of the VIV Ski Club, skiing is an important part of their rehabilitation and ongoing wellbeing.

The trip helps our club members to gain confidence and freedom on the snow with support from a dedicated team of experienced volunteer guides, most of whom are veterans themselves.

All our visually impaired veterans (VIs) are registered blind, with their impairments ranging from heavily blurred vision to zero sight.

We would love your assistance in promoting and supporting Darren in this challenge.
